Eastman
Eastman is taking circularity mainstream because the future of our planet depends on it. Eastman’s plant in Kingsport is one of the largest integrated advanced recycling sites in North America, where they are able to recycle 110,000 metric tons annually. When a product reaches the end of its life, Eastman creates new value from that waste thanks to molecular recycling technologies, and those materials can be used again and again. Eastman’s plant uses molecular recycling to unzip polyester back to its original monomers, creating new plastic from waste. This makes it possible to recycle materials an infinite number of times instead of downcycling or sending them to landfill, incineration, or into the environment.
